CGW’s stainless steel guide rod provides the end user with a non-captured recoil spring system that allows for greater ability to tune the firearm for your ammo for a softer recoil impulse, reliability for barrel porting, and easy replacement of worn down springs. For high volume shooters, a non-captured recoil spring system is a must! Recoil springs for full size pistols have a recommended life of 5000 rounds, and our stainless steel guide rod allows for easy replacement to keep your firearm running reliably. The OEM system does not allow the end user to easily swap springs, causing the customer to buy an entirely new recoil spring and guide rod each time replacement is necessary. The hard nitride P10F slide mandates the use of a heat treated guide rod compared to the typical 304 Stainless Steel. Don’t know which recoil spring to get?
