Exxtral is an excellent and ultra-durable coating for firearms and small parts. Typically used in industrial machine tooling to prevent corrosion and wear, it is applied to the metal through physical vapor deposition (PVD) and is a great representative for state of the art firearms plating. This robust coating is offered in two colors, dark gray appearance with a violet hue or matte black. Matte black is ideal for someone looking for a super resilient coating that matches closely to the factory CZ polycoat. Exxtral is the premier dark coating for the following reasons:
- High corrosion resistance
- High chemical and heat resistance
- Low friction coefficient producing smooth operations
- High resistance to abrasion
What can Exxtral be applied to?
Exxtral can only be applied to metals such as carbon steel and stainless steel. It is appropriate for frames, slides, barrels, and control parts. It cannot be applied to aluminum, brass, or polymer.
How do I care for Exxtral
Exxtral is very corrosion resistant but like all finishes, it’s best to apply a very light coat of oil to Exxtral for long-term storage. A solid cleaning every once in a while will be sufficient to maintain the coating.
